UCaaS leader reports over 66 percent growth in new users globally
Fuze, the leading cloud-based communications solution provider for the modern global enterprise, today announced that it marked the first half of 2017 with substantial growth, including a 51 percent increase in subscription revenue Year-Over-Year (YOY). Fuze continues to demonstrate its unique ability to scale for and serve the large enterprise segment. The company’s strong, continued momentum signals the market demand for a truly unified enterprise communications platform that delivers insights and empowers productivity.
Fuze marked the first half of the year with $134 million in funding led by Wellington Management Company LLP and one of the top U.S. public pension funds. The investment brings Fuze’s total funding to $334 million and further validates the Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) market opportunity as more enterprises move their communications stack to the cloud. Fuze is using its latest round of funding to accelerate product innovation for the enterprise customer segment and to continue international expansion in Latin America and Asia Pacific.
“Communications technology that is designed for the way people want to work is no longer a nice-to-have; it has become imperative in today’s business environment,” said Colin Doherty, CEO, Fuze. “Fuze has an enormous market opportunity to serve enterprises as they embrace the modern workplace and arm their employees with collaboration tools they will love to use. In fact, over the past six months we’ve seen an increase of more than 300 percent in the adoption of our desktop and mobile platform.”
Fuze is also driving significant global expansion, reporting 93 percent growth in EMEA activations YOY and expanding its global presence with the opening of a new data center in Brazil. Today, 90 percent of the company’s customers have a global footprint, indicating that Fuze is making good on its mission to dominate the global UCaaS market. Its growing global customer base includes: NHST, iPayment, Boon Edam, Ascendis Pharma, FIME, and The Rockport Group.
“As Fuze offers a seamless experience across voice, video, and messaging in desktop, mobile, and room environments, it has been replacing multiple vendors in new deals by consolidating the formerly disparate tools all into the easy-to-use Fuze platform,” said Aragon Research CEO and Lead Analyst Jim Lundy in the recent Aragon Research Globe™ for Unified Communications and Collaboration research report (March 2, 2017). Fuze was recognized as a leader in the report for continuing to push the envelope on ease of use and for its complete, interactive collaboration experience.
The first half of the year also brought the appointment of three executives to drive the next phase of Fuze’s growth: Chief Executive Officer Colin Doherty, Chief Information Officer Chris Conry, and Chief Sales Officer Chris Doggett. All three executives come to Fuze with extensive experience and round out a leadership bench to capitalize on the robust enterprise market opportunity for cloud communications.
“Fuze is poised to capitalize on a major market opportunity with its award-winning technology,” said Chris Doggett, CSO, Fuze. “We are giving today's global enterprises the platform to enable their employees to work the way they want to: anywhere, anytime, and using modern tools.”
In February, Fuze announced the general availability of Fuze Connect, allowing custom enterprise integrations that can present employees with meaningful, role-specific insights to improve the way they engage with customers, thereby improving the customer experience. In May, the company announced new product integrations with InContact Customer Interaction Cloud, combining Fuze’s global network and InContact’s best-of-breed contact center technology to offer an optimized experience for global contact centers. In keeping with its mission to power seamless communications across geographies and languages, the company also announced the availability of its desktop and mobile applications in new languages including Spanish, French, and German.
Fuze further established itself as a leading visionary on technology’s role in driving the future of work by launching an extensive research study in March entitled Breaking Barriers 2020: How CIOs are Shaping the Future of Work. The research draws on insights from nearly 10,000 CIOs, IT leaders, workers, and members of the app generation around the globe. The study paints the picture of the workplace of the future with the following key findings:
- 83 percent of respondents believe they do not need to be in an office to be productive
- 80 percent of CIOs say IT’s ability to innovate is critical to success
- 50 percent of workers – across generations – would like to be more mobile at work
In May, Fuze announced its move to a new Boston-based headquarters and unveiled its new “Work from Anywhere” policy to employees, encouraging teams to collaborate with their managers to design personalized, flexible programs for where and how they can do their best work. The new 51,000 square-foot Boston hub, which includes collaboration spaces and flexible individual workspaces, signals continued momentum as the global UCaaS platform scales operations to meet market demand, prepares for its next phase of growth, and invests in the success of the modern, mobile workforce.
Fuze also received numerous accolades recognizing its industry leadership, including being named to the Forbes Cloud 100 for the second consecutive year. This recognition as one of the leading companies in cloud technology further validates that Fuze’s best-of-breed solution is on the leading edge of innovation. In May, Fuze was recognized with the SiriusDecisions Return on Integration (ROI) award for excellence in demand creation and lead management and won a Gold Stevie Award for New Product or Service of the Year for Fuze Desktop and Mobile. In July, Fuze was ranked the highest enterprise cloud voice provider by CommsTrader.
“Fuze is leading the charge in moving the modern work experience to the cloud,” said Steve Kokinos, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman, Fuze. “Our platform is unifying video, voice, and collaboration applications to give people the experience they’ve come to expect at work. We are pleased to report such strong momentum the first half of the year and look forward to the opportunity to continue delivering a reimagined communication experience for the enterprise.”
