2018: Year of the Game Changers

2018 has been a year for game changers here at Fuze. Not only did we interview 14 industry-leading CIOs and IT professionals from companies such as Okta, PGA TOUR, Le Tote, Pegasystems, and more, but we organized several in-person events celebrating game changes in person all around the US.

So, who are the Game Changers? We believe game changers are the CIOs and other IT leaders are taking on more responsibility within their organizations. They have become key decision makers who not only have a seat at the table but are relied upon to set an agenda for how technology can drive their organizations’ futures. CIOs’ investments in IT are doing a lot more than helping their companies get work done. They’re changing the way companies work. IT projects are supporting business goals and enabling business transformation. Here's a quick recap of the events.

Earlier this month, Fuze hosted a panel discussion with customers Victor Pereira, senior director of IT at BSE Global and Melvin Perez, VP of Tech Operations at Barneys New York, moderated by Michael Hopkins of The Solo Project, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. The focus of the conversation was on digital transformation, the future of work, and what it takes to be a game-changing IT leader in the ever-evolving workplace today.

The keys? Managing security, empowering mobility, and driving adoption.

Like many IT and business leaders, our speakers keep security top of mind. Regardless of the situation, if they get a call that something has happened, they must work quickly to protect their brands.

The nature of the workplace has changed and their organizations are looking for more flexibility to chose where they work, be it the office, home, or in transit. BSE Global recently moved its office to a new location in Brooklyn, which prompted the need for greater flexibility and mobility for its staff. For Barneys, Melvin talked about their staff wanted to work outside of their desks.

Both Victor and Melvin stressed the importance of adoption when it comes to new technology. In order to be successful, Victor offered advice on getting new technologies out quicker and focus on driving adoption from the start. Both agreed that the key to adoption is over-communication, keeping everyone informed on what is coming, and understanding the needs across the business.
