The Next Chapter

December 01, 2021 by Brian Day

Today we announced that Fuze has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by 8x8. Once closed, the deal will increase our combined global presence, drive product innovation, and accelerate global market leadership for enterprise cloud communications. To all Fuze customers, partners, and employees, we are committed to your ongoing success in this next chapter, as we drive innovation, value, and growth together with 8x8.

Our shared vision and values

Combining forces with 8x8 is a natural fit. We share a common vision of the hybrid work model and the future of integrated cloud communications. 8x8 and Fuze also share a customer-first and product-first culture, a focus on global enterprise customers, partner-centric go-to-market strategies, and our teams share the same SaaS and cloud communications DNA. I believe our shared approach will help our customers achieve even greater success with cloud communications.

8x8 + Fuze Shared Vision and Values

Together, I believe we will achieve:

  • Accelerated innovation in cloud communications. 8x8 has established its position as a market leader and innovator with its XCaaS platform (eXperience Communications as a Service™) and was just recognized as a UCaaS Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for a tenth year in a row — the longest-running leader in the UCaaS Magic Quadrant. They are also the only UCaaS Leader to also be recognized in the CCaaS Magic Quadrant. Their XCaaS strategy of unified UC and CC is completely aligned with our strategy at Fuze. By joining forces, we can accelerate innovation and further define the future of cloud communications in the enterprise.

  • Superior Experiences for Customers and Partners. 8x8 is committed to supporting Fuze customers on the Fuze platform. As we integrate our product, engineering, customer success, and services teams, we will combine the best of both platforms in a unified cloud communications solution that delivers the flexibility, improved customer responsiveness, and lower total cost of ownership.

  • Operational scale on a global basis. 8x8 has established a strong global brand and multiple routes to market. As the only Visionary in the Gartner UCaaS Magic Quadrant, and given our laser-like focus on the enterprise, Fuze will boost 8x8’s overall brand position with enterprise buyers around the world. As a combined organization, we achieve greater operational scale that allows us to compete more effectively and creates an opportunity for incredible future growth.

This adds up to a tremendous amount of potential for our combined ambitions, increasing our global competitive advantage and accelerating the pace of product innovation. I am confident that this transaction will raise the bar for the cloud communications industry.

The transaction is expected to close during 8x8’s fourth fiscal quarter, subject to the satisfaction of regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
