Leading Analyst: “Cloud Unified Communications Growth to Continue”

Last week, I attended one of Polycom’s quarterly update meetings for service provider partners. The event featured a diverse gathering of partners and resellers that provide communications as a service to customers ranging from SMBs to large enterprises. Leading unified communications analyst Bill Haskins from Wainhouse Research discussed the state of the market and where his firm believes the market is going. The good news is that Wainhouse’s research maps to what the partners are seeing in the trenches.

The event was another confirmation that UCaaS (UC as a Service) is experiencing growth rates that would be enviable in any market and that this trend looks like it’s going to continue for the next several years. It was affirming to have so many Polycom partners confirm that premises-based PBX is moving to the cloud and that cloud communications deployments have truly become mainstream.

Being a leader and innovator in the enterprise UCaaS market is a great position to have, but it’s even better when others see the trend and rush to fulfill demand in the market you’ve been leading for years. Every company can benefit from cloud-based communications, but we think midsized and larger enterprises stand to gain the most. We continue to see new opportunities across industries and with companies of all sizes, and we expect the next few years to be some exciting times. And leading analysts and partners are confirming this.
