Jason Kasch, CIO of Baltimore-based STRUCTURAL, has been named a Midmarket CIO Award of Excellence finalist by Boardroom Events. The award will be presented at the upcoming Midmarket CIO Forum to be held October 27-29 in Tucson, AZ.
Thinking Phone Networks worked with STRUCTURAL to develop and execute a strategic communications plan to connect the company’s distributed workforce of more than 2,000 employees deployed in 30 global locations.
STRUCTURAL has deployed a full suite of cloud communications services and applications, including enterprise-wide cloud IP PBX voice; mobility to support its large in-field engineering team; desktop video; presence and instant messaging; and full Microsoft Office integration. In addition, integration of the company's global address list allows for click-to-call capability from any computer within the company. Future plans include CRM application integration which will allow STRUCTURAL representatives to receive screen-pop notifications and have at their fingertips a complete customer engagement history when a call is received.
Deployment of the Thinking Phone Networks cloud unified communications solution was completed in approximately nine months. In addition to communications services, STRUCTURAL also purchased all new hardware equipment (including routers, switches, and desktop phones) and secured a total return on investment (ROI) in just 13 months. According to Kasch, STRUCTURAL has realized a 26% operational cost savings in each of the first two years of cloud service compared to the combined voice and data network expenditures he paid previously.
