It’s summer time, folks: are you enjoying work outside the office? Let us know! With our #ViewFromMyOffice Twitter contest underway, there’s no better time than now to make the Twitterverse jealous with your stunning remote work views. So far it has been great to see the infinite ways individuals are embracing summer as a time to travel the world. Yet in between sipping mimosas, splashing in pools, and relaxing in hammocks, remote employees are still finding ways to plug in and get work done.
The benefits of unified communications are clearly being displayed in these photos: UC encourages teams to communicate, collaborate and stay connected with one another however and whenever it makes the most sense, whether that be through video, voice, text, or email.
More and more businesses are opening their minds to remote work strategies that enable employees to operate outside the confined walls of an office setting. And with a predicted 6.1B global smartphone users by the year 2020, there’s undoubtedly a growing trend supporting a distributed workforce. In today’s digital world, with access to information available 24/7 on both personal and work-sanctioned devices, the majority of employees find it completely normal and acceptable to text or call coworkers regarding work-related matters outside the traditional work environment. And it’s changing the way we work: our Constantly Connected Employee survey showed that 68 percent of employees will use mobile devices to better communicate from anywhere and everywhere. With technology making collaboration between distributed teams seamless, hard work can be rewarded: productivity can be found in a home office, on a plane or even at a café while resting at a beach resort, giving you more freedom to choose where, when and how you work best.
Which is why we’re celebrating remote work with our #ViewFromMyOffice campaign. We want to see you making the most of your summer, balancing work and play while still getting things done. Because we know that working remotely can provide the flexibility to fit in that extended weekend road trip, catch the ball game with your family or head out early to skip the traffic on your way to the cabin, we’d like to give these moments some extra love.
