The Vision to Bring People Together in Tomorrow's Digital Workplace

September 06, 2017 by Eric Hanson

Few companies can look at the market, anticipate where it is going, make a few strategic acquisitions, and then bring an industry-leading product to market in less than a year…

Fuze did.

In the process, we helped define a conversation that reimagines how people communicate at work.

It is flattering when not only analysts recognize your foresight, but also when your competitors try to replicate it -- in some cases even using some of your own messaging and go-to-market strategies. That is how you know you are defining a conversation rather than just contributing to it.

We believe for this, and many other reasons, Gartner has recognized Fuze as a Visionary in the most recent UCaaS Magic Quadrant. In the recent report, Fuze was positioned as a Visionary for our Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision. We believe we were included in the report because of:

  • Our intuitive user experience and robust roadmap
  • Expanding our UCaaS capabilities across the platform including analytics, workstream collaboration, customer identity graphs, and video
  • Our platform is well-suited for UCaaS deployments in the 500- and 5,000-employee range
  • Our revenue growth over the past year

Market leadership comes in different forms. Some companies take an approach of trying to be everything to everyone in a given market, delivering a buffet of solutions based on a horizontal consolidation of services which may or may not work well together. Others attempt to copy innovation and seek to gain advantage on price or with aggressive marketing spend.

At Fuze, we are different. We have a unique business philosophy aimed at changing the way people communicate in the workplace.

Our strategy begins with a consumer-inspired approach. We synthesize market intelligence and end user behavior. This gives us an advantage, enabling us to quickly innovate and pioneer products that empower people to interact cross-functionally, to increase productivity across the enterprise and around the world.

We constantly look to anticipate the market requirements of tomorrow’s workforce to create technology that future proofs the investments our customers make today.

To disrupt the status quo, you have to listen to the market. You must trust in years of experience but also validate with research. Only then can you concentrate key investments in advance of market demand.

Our own research on the App Generation and how CIOs can shape the future of work have helped to inform our product platform strategy. We conducted a global survey with 900 IT leaders, 6,600 workers, and 3,300 teenagers (age 15–18) from the app generation which helped to validate our roadmap.

While we have taken an open platform approach, we believe in end-to-end control of our technology portfolio merging voice, video, chat, and real-time data into a single platform. The single platform approach enables seamless interaction across the enterprise, unlocking rich business insights. We do this through the one service that touches everyone in an organization - communications. We deliver ONE global platform that allows for iterative enhancements to an industry-leading user experience, faster innovation, and control over quality, reliability, and security. The market tells us that this type of platform approach, delivered from a true cloud architecture, is the only realistic way to meet the requirements of tomorrow’s workplace.

There has never been a better time to develop and deliver a UCaaS platform. The workplace is going through a digital transformation centered on reducing cost and complexity, enabling a higher degree of business agility, and driving worker engagement and productivity. 2017 has marked a significant milestone as UCaaS has entered into the mainstream, as Gartner predicted in late 2016.*

While we celebrate our ten-year anniversary, we celebrate Fuze’s position in the Magic Quadrant along with many other accolades we received in 2017. We believe it helps reinforce our mission to power every business conversation in the modern enterprise as we get dirty in the details of plotting what’s next for 2018.
