BOSTON, MA (February 25, 2021)—Fuze, the leading cloud-based communications provider for the modern global enterprise, today announced that it has been awarded a new patent to improve audio and video call quality. By using machine-learning techniques to predict and resolve connectivity issues based on user data, including location and hardware, the new patent improves the user experience on the Fuze platform.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) issued Fuze U.S. Patent No. 10904311 on January 26, 2021. This invention spots connectivity issues in real-time to improve user call quality by leveraging historical user experience data. For example, if a user in North America is having connectivity challenges on a specific hardware device, the system will proactively resolve the problem for a similar user.

“As people continue working remotely, we’ve seen networks overburdened with more users, and it’s critical that audio and video calls remain uninterrupted by connectivity issues,” said Rob Scudiere, president and chief operating officer at Fuze. “At Fuze, we know that the enterprise can’t afford downtime due to connectivity, which is why we’re committed to innovations that improve call quality and proactively resolve issues before they happen.”
